Is Bilton Hall Nursing Home registered?

Yes. Bilton Hall is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission and the local authority.

Facilities (4)

Are beds available?

Please call 01423 869131 to check for our current bed availability.

What are the visiting hours?

Visiting hours are at any time, but we would ask that you please avoid mealtimes to enable our residents to enjoy their meals with privacy.

Is there access for walking frames or wheelchairs?

The Home is completely accessible with plenty of room for all residents to move around irrespective of their needs.

A lift is available between floors.

Are single en-suite rooms available?

There are single & double rooms in Bilton Hall which all have ensuite facilities to ensure privacy.

Medical Care (3)

Can I keep my own GP?

As long as the practice you are registered with are happy to travel to Bilton Hall it is possible to keep your GP.

In other cases there are several very good GP practices nearby where some of our residents are registered.

Is a doctor available at all times?

Yes, we have access to GPs at all times and for emergencies we have Harrogate District Hospital only 10 minutes away by ambulance.

In addition registered nurses are always on duty in the Home.

Does the Home have Care Plans for residents?

A programme of care is formulated for each resident which reflects their individual needs. These are shared with relatives and updated regularly.

Each resident has a named nurse & keyworker.

Activities & Services (3)

Does the Home offer Activities for residents?

A programme of events & activities is organised monthly and includes visits from entertainers & musicians; keep fit sessions; craft& art activities; sing-a-longs & reminiscing times and a weekly bingo afternoon.

Are residents encouraged to participate in activities?

Yes. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities & interact with other residents, but Residents’ preferences are always respected.

What other services are offered?

A hairdresser visits every week, a chiropodist every 6 weeks and communion is held once a month.

Also we have a short interdenominational Church service each month.

Eye tests can be conducted in the Home & visits to the dentist arranged.

Food & Diet (3)

Are personal likes & dislikes taken into consideration in menu planning?

Yes.  Bilton Hall takes residents’ preferences into consideration when planning menus and choices are available at all mealtimes. 

We encourage residents to give us feedback on the food at the regular Residents’ meetings, to let us know their likes & dislikes.

Does a dietitian get involved with residents who need special diets?

Yes. Bilton Hall has the support of a team of dietary professionals based at Harrogate District Hospital who visit the residents concerned and advise what is required.

Are snacks available?

Yes. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day & evening.

Affordability (3)

How much does accommodation in Bilton Hall cost?

Accommodation costs vary from £515 to £950 depending on the size & location of the room and the type of care needed.

Is financial assistance available?

Depending on the personal circumstances of the resident, help with finances may be available from the local authority. Please ask for further details.

Does Dementia care cost more?

Because of the nature of Dementia, residents are likely to need more nursing care, but this does not cost more.
