We aim to provide excellent food to residents, as nourishment is a vital part of the care that we feel they need from us. It is important that the meals look and taste good to help stimulate their appetites and that the menus are created to be well balanced to ensure the residents are getting the nutrition that they need.
Coleen, our Catering Manager, works closely with the dieticians at Harrogate hospital to keep up to date with nutritional guidelines and the latest dietary advice.
The Home holds a 5 star food hygiene rating, the highest rating awarded.
We have a 4 week menu cycle and each day we offer a hot breakfast, a 3 course midday meal and a hot meal at teatime. In between, we serve coffee & biscuits in a morning and tea & delicious home-made cake in an afternoon. Lunch is the main meal of the day and there is always a choice of main course & pudding. Sandwiches and soft drinks are available at all times.
The menus are created with the help of residents who are more likely to eat the things they enjoy.
