Activities Organisers Group Training Day

Activities Organisers Group Training Day

2nd November 2017

A training day was hosted by Bilton Hall for all Activities Organisers in our Group.

This was an excellent opportunity to not only share experiences and expertise but also to look at new and innovative ways of enhancing the life experience of our residents.

We were also given an introduction to the forthcoming  use of new technology to replace our reliance on handwritten paper documentation.

BILTON HALL ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY 22nd JULY 2017

Every year we hold a Garden Party for residents, relatives, staff and guests.

We were very lucky with the weather and the event was a great success as usual.

As a result of everyone’s hard work and support we were able to raise almost £400 for the Residents’ Fund which will be used to benefit all the residents.

A great fun day for all…………….

2017’s celebration had the theme of Friendship across local communities

It was a lovely day so we were able to stage the event outside in our Award winning garden.

We had a Barbecue which went down really well with everybody.  One of our carers gave a captivating display of traditional Indian dancing. The local Mayor paid us a visit and spent the afternoon enjoying the food and entertainment as well as being to chat to most of the residents and staff who were able to attend.

Dementia Awareness Week

Dementia Awareness Week

For Dementia Awareness Week 2017, Alzhiemer’s Society  asked everyone to put aside their differences and unite against dementia – to urgently find a cure, improve care and offer help and understanding.

We organised a number of events to promote this week of action.

One afternoon we had a special tea and entertainment was provided by the ever popular Kevin Louchran.

Here are some pictures of us really having a good time –

Dignity Action Day 1st February 2017

Dignity Action Day 1st February 2017
Dignity Action Day is an annual opportunity for health and social care workers, and members of the public to uphold people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people who use care services.

We had a special tea (DIGNI-TEA) for our residents and CARLA came and entertained the residents in the afternoon. They really enjoyed singing along with her to a varied selection of their favourite songs.
Here are some pictures of the lovely event –

Bilton Hall Nursing Home celebrated National Care Home Open Day

Open Day 172 (400x267)Bilton Hall Nursing Home celebrated National Care Home Open Day

On Friday 20th June 2014, Bilton Hall Nursing Home opened its doors to the local community to let them see for themselves the day to day lives of residents.

Joined by the local MP, Andrew Jones and the Mayor & Mayoress of Harrogate (Councillor Jim Clark & Councillor Shirley Fawcett) and Deputy Mayor of Knaresborough (Councillor Carole Reid), visitors were able to explore the public areas.

More importantly, they were able to meet the residents and chat to them over a cup of tea & homemade cakes, bringing to life how it feels to live in Bilton Hall.

The residents & visitors were entertained by singers Bob & Denise – firm favourites with them all. They joined in with the singing enthusiastically; so did our VIPs!

One visitor commented “It was lovely to see so many happy smiling faces on the residents, who were clearly enjoying the entertainment and reminiscing with relatives & visitors

National Care Home Open Day was created last year in response to recent negative publicity for Care Homes, caused by a small number of badly run homes.
