Bilton Hall Nursing Home celebrated National Care Home Open Day
On Friday 20th June 2014, Bilton Hall Nursing Home opened its doors to the local community to let them see for themselves the day to day lives of residents.
Joined by the local MP, Andrew Jones and the Mayor & Mayoress of Harrogate (Councillor Jim Clark & Councillor Shirley Fawcett) and Deputy Mayor of Knaresborough (Councillor Carole Reid), visitors were able to explore the public areas.
More importantly, they were able to meet the residents and chat to them over a cup of tea & homemade cakes, bringing to life how it feels to live in Bilton Hall.
The residents & visitors were entertained by singers Bob & Denise – firm favourites with them all. They joined in with the singing enthusiastically; so did our VIPs!
One visitor commented “It was lovely to see so many happy smiling faces on the residents, who were clearly enjoying the entertainment and reminiscing with relatives & visitors”
National Care Home Open Day was created last year in response to recent negative publicity for Care Homes, caused by a small number of badly run homes.
